General Goals of Sondance
Sondance Studio is an education-based studio seeking to provide a nurturing atmosphere for the students, as they learn
quality dance technique. It is our goal to use the medium of dance as a way of expressing our Christian commitment and
our hope and that our students will do the same.
Faculty
Sondance Studio faculty members are committed Christians who share the vision of training up dancers to glorify the Lord.
Instructors are carefully selected and work as a team to implement these unique teaching methods and program goals.
The instructors continue to study dance at various locations around the country. Sondance educators provide quality
instruction and a nurturing environment that helps each dancer develop the special gifts God has placed within them.

Program Focus
Sondance Studio offers a curriculum with a Christian emphasis, reflected in the types of music, dance styles, techniques,
and dance routines.
Prayer, songs of praise and worship, are integral parts of all classes. The unique goals of this program are to glorify the
Lord though dance, and to provide a nurturing atmosphere for the student as they learn excellent dance techniques.
At each level we would like our students to:

Learn the language and technique of dance and use it in ways that will glorify and honor Jesus Christ.
Be able to perform given steps with confidence and enjoyment.
Be able to count appropriate rhythms and maintain a steady beat.
Be able to memorize and retain a set sequence or routine.
Recognize and define differences between dance forms. (How is tap different from ballet?)
Be able to convey meaning and delight to an audience through the medium of dance.
Be able to move and work within a given space, both alone and in a group.
Grow in their appreciation of various music types
Be able to use skills to develop their own dance.
