Staff Biography:
Maggie Moore - Dance Instructor
Margaret Moore started dancing at the age of 7 and has not stopped since! She has studied ballet, jazz, modern, pointe, lyrical, tap, Hawaiian, character dance, and musical theater. During high school and college she began to teach dance as well as choreograph both for dance and theater. She has performed in numerous venues, has premiered over 20 pieces of original choreography, and has choreographed over 7 musicals.
Margaret graduated in 2004 from the U of Iowa with an Honors BFA in Dance and a BA in Biology. At the U of Iowa, Margaret performed extensively and was a member of the touring company DIC. During that time, she was the company’s Student Assistant Director and Ballet Master. She has worked with world renowned choreographers including Basil Thompson, Charlotte Adams, Deanna Carter, Armando Duarte, Alan Sener, Zeng Huanxing and Jill Sigman.
In 2006 Margaret presented an evening of her own choreography at the Paramount titled Muovere! She was a guest choreographer and performer with the North Dakota Ballet Company in 2009. She is the Artistic Director for the Minnesota Dance Ensemble in St Cloud, MN and has been performing and choreographing with MDE for four seasons.
In addition to dance, Maggie enjoys singing and spending time with her family and she and her husband Darren are the proud parents of a two year old boy, Christopher. She is thrilled to be able to teach young students the art and technique of dance in an environment when God and worship are not only allowed but emphasized!
